Proposed Amendments to the Official Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map in the Town of Minerva (MA2006-02)
The Town of Minerva has requested fifteen amendments to the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan map. These amendments, which total 4,591 ± acres, were identified in the Town's Comprehensive Plan (November 2004).
The Adirondack Park Agency has prepared a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (pdf 11.1 MB) for these proposed amendments.
A public hearing was held on May 4, 2009 at the Minerva Central School. The slide presentation from the public hearing can be view here (pdf 11.8 MB). The Adirondack Park Agency has agreed to extend the public comment period at the request of the Town of Minerva, the applicant.
Written Comments on these amendments will be accepted through September 14, 2009.

Proposed New York Air National Guard Adirondack
Range Airspace Modifications

The map is a representation of the proposed New York Air National
Guard Adirondack Range Airspace Modifications as presented in a
Final Environmental Assessment (EAF) dated September 2004. The map
does not depict all of the proposed airspace modifications identified
in the EAF. Formal proposal details regarding this proposed action

Visit The New Interpretive Exhibits On The High
Peaks Scenic Byway
The Adirondack Park Agency, working with Scenic Byway
grant funds, recently installed five new interpretive exhibits along
NYS Route 73.

The free standing panel exhibits are located at Chapel Pond, Marcy
Field, and lower Cascade Lake.
At Chapel Pond, the theme of the exhibit is “Experience the
Adirondack Wilderness”. There are three panels located at
the entrance to the new parking lot at Marcy Field: “Early
Adirondack Visitors and Guides”, “Marcy Field: A Window
on the Adirondacks”, and “Discover the Eastern Adirondacks”.
The panel located at the end of lower Cascade Lake is titled “Natural
Forces that Shaped the Adirondacks”.
The Agency and its exhibit development partners at the NYS Department
of Transportation, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation,
and the Town of Keene hope you will find these new exhibits informative
and enjoyable.
